We guide on properties spread from Wellington down to Ft Lupton and out to Wiggins. As migration and flight patterns are always changing, we won’t make the final determination on where to meet until the evening before you go out. Your guide will let you know when you receive your call.
If you need a hotel room, the best place to reserve will be Greeley. Best not to pay in advance so you can change if needs be.
When will I hear from my guide?
Between 6-7pm the evening before your hunt. If you have pressing questions that need to be answered before that time, text or call Cash Hogsett at 303.870.3862
What time do we meet our guide?
This will depend on what guides are seeing in the ponds, river, and fields as well as what species you’re pursuing. Duck hunters will usually meet about an hour before shooting time, which is 30 minutes before sunrise. Goose hunts will typically meet later as geese don’t usually start flying until after sunrise. Times may vary depending on conditions.
What licenses do I need?
You’ll need a Colorado small game license as well as state and federal waterfowl stamps. For early season, get a sandhill crane number as well. If you’re in from out of state, a single day or 3-day license will do but you’ll also need the state and federal Colorado duck stamps.
You’ll also need to call or go online to get a Harvest Information Program (HIP) number. The number is 866.COLOHIP. Clich HERE for the Harvest Information Program registration line.

What should we bring?
Shotgun, shells, license, clothes, and any snacks for the day. If your hunt is to go all day, you’ll most likely break for lunch.
Can we rent guns?
No. Our insurance doesn’t permit us to rent guns out.
What size shell/shot should we use?
If you’re hunting early season ducks, 3” #3 shot shells are very effective. For goose hunting, 3” #1-BB shells are good. Manufacturer and brand name is personal preference. It’s most recommended you find a manufacturer and brand you feel most comfortable with and stick with it.
How should we dress?
Watch weather reports and dress for the specific day. Layering up in dull colored clothing is recommended.
Is full camo necessary?
Not necessarily. Don’t go out and break the bank on new clothing. If you have dull colored clothes, that will be fine. “Hunter Orange” is not required.
